Nobel Kekele is a filmmaker, a moment-capturing photographer, and an ingenious content creator based in Manhattan, New York. As a creative, he effectively brings to reality the visions that are etched into the mind of life. From his experiences working on an array of productions in various roles, Nobel has attained a reliable and dedicated team-first attitude. The primary goal of his work is to produce content that does not stop at simply relaying information to an audience but empowering and inspiring his audience to moral action.
Nobel's first spark for filmmaking began after seeing Inception, where he witnessed how visual storytelling inspires, transforms, and catalyzes change in culture. Nobel's life purpose as a storyteller is to enlighten and provoke humanity to live a life beyond what they perceive it to be. To expand the depth of his skill, Nobel successfully completed an intensive one-year conservatory program at the New York Film Academy. He makes his directorial debut with Real Fake, a film assigned as his first project in the program. This long-take short film exposes the ‘fake’ in the realness people closest. Nobel portrays this idea through the lenses of a tawdry young man whose true self becomes exposed after an eviction notice is slipped under his door. The young man seeks to hide behind performance in front of his closest friends, one of whom soon discovers his truth.
The biggest accomplishment for Nobel has been directing two short films; one being his thesis film titled Unison. This film captured one of Nobel’s favorite themes to portray visually: fatherhood. He explores the impact father figures have on communities and nations starting within the home. The presence of fathers, or the lack thereof, can be what establishes healthy communities or destructive and deficient ones.
Nobel also received a first-place award in digital photography in a gallery at Prince George's College in Maryland for long exposure photography submission.
Nobel also works closely with a non-profit benevolent organization called M.E.R.C.Y (Maximizing Efforts for Relief and Care for Youth). A global humanitarian organization that strives to maximize the efforts of an ever-growing base of dedicated, passionate, and compassionate MERCY staff and volunteers (called MERCY Ambassadors) to deliver high impact, transformational projects, and programs that provide relief and care to the poor and needy around the world; with a special focus on youth. Nobel filmed documentaries of Mercy ambassadors in India and how they are shaping the communities by rescuing sexually abused victims, feeding the homeless, attending to lepers, providing education, and much more.
